About RPI Ambulance
RPI Ambulance is a New York State-certified, fully student-run, transporting ambulance agency that serves the RPI campus and surrounding communities. In a normal school year, we respond to between 150 and 200 calls for service and provide standby EMS coverage for about 30 special events.
All RPI students are eligible to join RPIA—no previous experience is necessary. We offer complete training from CPR certification all the way up to sponsorship for an EMT course.
Our History
RPI Ambulance was founded in 1977 and was the first EMS agency in Troy. Today, we serves the RPI campus and provide mutual aid coverage to other towns in Rensselaer County and, occasionally, Albany County.
